Background

At a SaaS company, deals originating from the APAC region were stalling after the initial inbound request, and the target-customer list had no existing connections into the region.

Goal

Generate enough regional revenue to justify continued local investment in APAC and build a proof-of-concept success story for entering the region.

The Work

Combined scattered APAC accounts under one focus, launched initial outreach, ran an event in Singapore, attended regional industry events, built partnerships with major platform and technology providers, deepened relationships with existing clients, set up a local entity with an employment pass to simplify operations, and stood up channel sales via agencies in China and Japan.

Outcome

Sales in APAC grew 5x, local business representatives were hired, a plan was set to build cross-functional regional teams, and the company decided to roll out the same playbook to another lagging region (the US).
